Job Summary:The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, collaborating with project managers and stakeholders, and ensuring that all estimates align with company standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimate Preparation: Develop detailed cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and requirements. This includes performing quantity takeoffs and determining material, labor, and equipment costs.Bid Compilation: Compile bids for projects, ensuring all necessary information is included and accurate. Submit bids in a timely manner and follow up as needed.Project Analysis: Review and interpret blueprints and technical documents to assess project scope and feasibility. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations.Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors. Ensure quotes meet project specifications and negotiate pricing when necessary.Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project estimates. Address any concerns or questions related to cost estimates.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain organized records of all estimates, proposals, and related documents. Prepare detailed reports for management review.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction cost estimation, preferably in commercial projects.Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software and strong mathematical skills.Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
