Job Description
This Jr. Estimator will:
* Review and analyze project plans, requirements, schedules, and specifications
* Organize and manages a cost estimating database for present and future use.
* Maintain and develop relationships with subcontractors. * Attend pre-bid meetings, client meetings, and sub-contractor meetings as necessary
* Perform accurate quantity takeoffs including self-performing FMS carpentry packages
* Review and understand all pertaining bid documents and assess project risks * Understand project logistics and project schedules
* Prepare bid packages. Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bid. * Review quotes and estimates with the pre-con/management team.
* Comprehends contract requirements for diversity compliance. * Understand permitting and local code requirements pertinent to self-performed work.
* Organize and conduct turn-over meetings for awarded projects to project management teams.
* Travel is limited but required for projects outside the immediate area.
* Actively participates in weekly department meetings or internal reporting meetings.
* Evaluates and manages risk throughout potential or active bids. * Oversight of timelines and critical path on projects to help organize estimates.
* Participates in assigned project turnovers and will have thorough understanding of assigned projects. . * Thorough understanding of union contracts.
* Collaborate with PMs to understand self-performance budgets and manage labor to drive projects under budget.
* Works with leadership to identify strengths and weaknesses.
* Develops and manages highly productive relationships and partnerships with project specific clients, subcontractors & internal construction teams.
* Willingness to travel for projects to accommodate clients outside of the Pittsburgh Area.
* Set goals, monitor work, and evaluate results to ensure that daily operations and active project objectives are met and are in line with the needs and vision of the organization and the project.

* Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
* Willingness to have a "Whatever it takes" attitude to build up on existing partnerships and form new.
