Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, or Certified Nurse Midwives

with great communication skills, clinical skills and a strong emphasis on excellent customer service to see our increasing, diverse patient population. The full-time Clinician will be responsible for providing quality patient care including virtual assessments, diagnosis, treatment, education, counseling and serve as a medical resource for other licensed and non-licensed staff in accordance with agency protocols. Master’s/Graduate Degree required.Women’s healthcare specialty or reproductive healthcare experience preferred.New graduate or less than one-year experience.A valid and current California license as a CNM, NP, or PA required.Current furnishing license required.Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.National Certification preferred.Medi-Cal Provider application must be completed.NPI number is required.DEA license preferred.Must be available to take rotating on-call duties.Must provide and have excellent customer service skills.Ability to work independently and as a team member.Ability to communicate and interact well with patients, staff, and volunteers.Demonstration of mature judgment, initiative, critical thinking, accuracy, and attention to detail is essential.Ability to read and implement written instructions.Ability to relate to diverse communities.Ability to maximize Health Center flow with appropriate utilization of Flow Facilitator.Professional appearance and attitude.Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.Must be proficient in EHR documentation.Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work.If using a personal vehicle to drive for work purposes, a valid CA driver license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.About the position:

Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.Adhere to agency’s policies, procedures and protocols.Perform virtual assessments via video and/or phone in alignment with Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA) Medical Standards & Guidelines (MS&Gs).Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies as indicated and permitted by PPLA MS&Gs.Ability to interpret and communicate diagnostic test results and/or follow-up plans for patients.Perform assessment of post-abortion clients and refer for in-clinic evaluation when appropriate.Recognize and treat minor deviations from the norm using PPLA MS&Gs and consulting with the Program Advisor, Charge Clinician, Senior Director of Clinical Services, Physician, and/or Medical Director as needed.Assess for eligibility and ability to prescribe all FDA approved birth control methods, including emergency contraception.Be familiar with payer and medication dispensing guidelines, especially FPACT, Medi-Cal and Medi-HMO.Comply with telehealth scripts and documentation requirements consistent with MS&Gs and billing and coding guidelines.Maintain PPLA standards of productivity, minimum of 20 telehealth visits per day.Ability to manage and address Planned Parenthood Direct inquiries within 2-3 hours of request, or other telehealth platforms as needed.Act as a medical resource to and provide oversight of supporting non-licensed staff.Provide support to the Call Center and Case Management teams regarding patient inquiries as needed.The following are responsibilities of Planned Parenthood Clinicians as outlined in the Medical Standards and Guidelines:

Secures a complete health history, including gynecologic, contraceptive, medical, surgical, sexual, family health, and psychosocial, obtains and/or interprets appropriate diagnostic procedures and laboratory tests.Provide family planning, nutrition, sexual counseling, and principles of health promotion and maintenance to patients.Collaborate with other community agencies in providing comprehensive care when necessary.Provide appropriate management for patients in need of reproductive related services, including fertility control, infertility, and sexually transmitted disease treatment.Serves as a resource for medical and procedural abortion services.Conducts post abortion follow-up assessment with recognition of normal and abnormal findings and refers or collaborates with physician as appropriate.Recognize ethical, legal, and professional issues inherent in providing care to patients throughout the life cycle.Additional assignments based on training and competency.Perform Quality Management audits if requested.Adhere to Quality Management policies and procedures.Notify the Quality Manager and appropriate Charge Clinician if deficiencies are found.Adhere to Safety/Risk Management policies and procedures.Notify the Health Center Supervisor and/or Center Manager if deficiencies are found.Perform other duties as assigned by the Charge Clinician, Director of Patient Access and/or Medical Director.Keep current on relevant methods of contraception, STIs, pregnancy, adoption, early prenatal care, community resources, agency protocols, referral procedures, and all Planned Parenthood programs initiatives and communications.Generous salary and benefits package includes:
