This would be a role on the PMCM team supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects that represent a capital investment of over $5B, strategically aligned to modernize the oldest subway in America. Projects are in various stages including planning, studies, concept development, design and construction.This position is specifically located at our downtown project office, working directly with the client in a dynamic environment. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.As a Project Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for collaborating with other team disciplines and external departments to perform data gathering and analysis, communicating information visually, and generating regular reporting. The role also includes supporting the Project Controls Manager in the development and refinement of the Program’s cost, schedule, risk management, changes & claims, and document control, along with the production of various reporting and communications as support to the client as needed.Responsibilities of this position will include, but may not be limited to:Provide input to all areas of project controls, including budget, cost, risk, schedule and change management.Perform analysis and develop / present alternatives with respect to project schedules and cash flows as part of the change management process.Develop and update regularly, program and project budgets, schedules, and project lists that summarize the planning, design procurement, design, contractor procurement and construction.Collaborate with others to prepare routine, reoccurring reports.Perform analysis of program sequence of work and milestones and recommend projects that need funding.Support the development of FTA grant proposals on behalf of the client including the development of ridership calculations, schedules, and cashflows.Support the use of Earned Value Management for the projects in construction.Work with designers to define construction phasing, establish construction contract milestones and limitations of operations.Incorporate program procedures and processes into systems.Support designers in scope definition, conceptual estimates, feasibility studies, and risks analysis.Perform other duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will have the following required experience:A bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of hands-on technical experience and education.5 years previous experience in a project controls field.Knowledge of cost and schedule software such as HCSS, MS Project, P6, etc.Rail/transit experience in regard to operations, maintenance, capital projects or asset management preferred.Effective oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Primavera and Team.Ability to be flexible and work both autonomously and within a team.Our teams are comprised of bright and enthusiastic people who wish to make a difference to the world that we live in.
