An accredited institutional member of NASM, Lamont is distinguished by an exceptionally talented and diverse student body as well as a faculty recognized nationally and internationally who tour, record, perform, publish, present scholarly work, and compose at the highest professional levels.Position SummaryThe Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver seeks to hire adjunct instructors for the 2024-2025 academic year to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. These may include, but are not limited to, studio instruction in multiple music styles, ensemble directing or coaching, and academic courses.Essential FunctionsProvide instruction in academic classes, ensembles, and/or applied musicFor faculty offering studio instruction, assist in auditioning and recruiting studentsGrading student work which encompasses, as applicable, assignments & exams, juries, and comprehensive assessments related to degree completionKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesFor faculty offering studio instruction: ability to recruit studentsTeach and work effectively with diverse populationsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively with students, faculty, and staffRequired QualificationMaster’s degree in Music or equivalent professional experiencePreferred QualificationsPrior teaching experience in higher educationRegional, national, or international reputation in area(s) of expertiseWork ScheduleWhile the University's administrative offices are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas.Application DeadlineApplications for this position will be reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.
