Every day we work to ensure that we maintain these competitive advantages and our position as a global leader in providing turnkey, battery energy storage solutions for utility-scale, commercial and industrial, and microgrid applications.Summary:As a member of the Powin Legal Team, working closely with the General Counsel, the Corporate Counsel is a key utility player that will support Powin’s legal operations. The Corporate Counsel will be involved in various aspects of Powin’s operations and assist in implementing improvements and efficiencies for a Company experiencing substantial growth. In this role, support the department, including general contract reviews, litigation management, and assisting with special projects. The Corporate Counsel must be comfortable in a dynamic, ever-changing environment and have a passion for exploration, problem solving, and continued professional development.Work closely with the General Counsel, providing comprehensive legal support as neededAssist with research, drafting, and implementation of legal strategiesReview, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including NDAs and other general agreementsEnsure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulationsAssist in managing litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel and handling discovery processesManage and resolve disputesArbitrate, mediate and advocate on behalf of PowinDraft and interpret legal documents, including but not limited to contracts, notices, change-orders and amendmentsManage a high volume of data, manage and improve legal databases, and track key terms and obligationsSupport multiple departments as assigned, including HR, finance, projects, services, procurement, revenue and othersProvide legal guidance on HR-related matters, including employment contracts, policies, and dispute resolutionAssist with employee relations and compliance issuesServe as the administrative lead for special projects, providing legal support and ensuring timely completionCreate standard work and training for departments to increase efficiencies and improve outcomesCreate and present reporting metricsDemonstrate a proactive and practical approach to identifying and resolving legal issuesTake on assigned tasks and adapt to changing prioritiesPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and an active bar license for at least one state2+ Years of relevant legal experience, preferably with work managing contracts and litigationStrong understanding of contract law and experience with contract drafting and negotiationEnergy industry experience is a plusExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid relationships and work effectively in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to communicate professionally (written and oral)High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detailAbility to self-start and operate autonomouslyWillingness to learn and embrace the company’s philosophy and cultureNot afraid to learn from mistakes and eager to take on new challengesPeriodic travel is required
