The HSC team of 750 employees and more than 100 volunteers together serve children and young adults with special health care needs and their families at our District of Columbia and Maryland locations.POSITION SUMMARYThe Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, providing, and documenting direct and indirect nursing care for a designated group of hospital patients or skilled nursing facility residents in accordance with the physician's plan of care. All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, HSC Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The RN also provides nursing care interventions, preventing complications and promoting improvement in the patients'/residents' comfort and wellness, informing the interdisciplinary team of their condition as appropriate.QualificationsMinimum EducationAssociate's Degree Graduate of a fully accredited school of nursing (Required) OrBSN Graduate of a fully accredited school of nursing (Preferred)Minimum Work ExperienceAt least one (1) year pediatric experience preferred (Preferred) OrAt least one (1) to two (2) year nursing experience preferred (Preferred)Required Skills/KnowledgeThe ideal candidate must have basic computer skills.
