Analyzes and resolves operational problems of moderate scope. This position serves as the Accounts Receivable Representative responsible for providing customer-oriented, value-added collections, billing and payment services including counseling and compliance with applicable federal, state and local, sponsor, and university regulations and policies related to stipends, refunds, student loans, exit interviews, third party, Bear Buy and Departmental AR (Sundry Debtor) invoicing, intercampus transfers, journal entries and training services related to the statement of duties. The Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for managing professional relationships with students, departments, partners, and third-party agencies and handling personal workload to ensure office service levels are achieved by using basic professional concepts to adhere to university and office policies and procedures and resolving routine problems of repetitive nature.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $29.05 - $53.50 (Hourly Rate).Department Description

The UCSF Controller's organization delivers full accounting services and related systems for faculty, staff, students, UCSF Foundation, all University departments, and any outside entities who have a business relationship with the University. Services provided include General Ledger, Capital and Cash Accounting, Payroll, Student Loan Billing, Collections, and a Customer Service Center. The Controller's Office vision is to be a trusted advisor working in partnership with faculty, staff, and students to enhance the financial stewardship of the campus and to uphold the public's trust in the institution and mission of UCSF.The Accounts Receivable and Banking Services unit is a major unit of the Controller's office. The unit is responsible for cash and controls, managing bank account activity, Departmental AR, incoming payments, student stipends, refunds, tuition loans, billing, collections, and related compliance and internal controls for UCSF campus. In addition, this unit participates in the development, implementation, and training of new systems or processes and provides customer support to the UCSF community who utilize our services and systems, including PeopleSoft General Ledger and interpretation of UC policies, procedures, and acceptable accounting practices.Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area and / or equivalent experience/training.3 or more years of work experience with managing financial compliance policies and procedures, accounts receivable, billing and collections with the University of California system or other higher education institution of a comparable size.Knowledge of core finance functions, Analysis, Project Management, Regulatory Compliance, modified payments, bankruptcies, court-appointed repayments, tax offsets, loan exit interviews, Perkins, Primary Care Loans (PCL), Nursing Faculty loans (NFLP).Demonstrated ability to apply theory and put it into practice with an in-depth understanding of the professional field to analyze and solve problems/issues of diverse scope related to Office Skills, Office Systems, and Collections.Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.Demonstrated ability for Continual Learning, Interpersonal Skills, Problem Solving, Oral Communication, and Written Communication.Demonstrated integrity, Flexibility, Poise, Resilience, and Attendance.Demonstrated ability to be Collaborative (CARE), Responsive (CARE), Efficient (CARE), and Accountable (CARE).Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and exercise professional judgment to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity related to Business.This position is remote-based and requires one to work on-site four to six times a year (at the employee's expense) at our Mission Center office, located at 1855 Folsom Street, San Francisco.Preferred Qualifications
