General Summary of Position

Professional care provider who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge. In collaboration with the patient and family, provides theory-based professional nursing care and coordinates care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Follows the chain of command by consulting with other healthcare professionals and seeks assistance as neededExhibits strength and moral agency as a patient advocate in ethical decision making. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.Practices within legal boundaries of the nurse practice act and possesses a theoretical understanding of the universal ethical principles. Escalates ethical discourse in practice and seeks other resources in advocacy for support and counsel..Sets priorities easily and readily anticipates patient and family needsRecognizes the relevance of the current situation and organizes a skilled response to rapidly changing conditions. Minimum Qualifications

Education

Associate's degree of an accredited School of Nursing;

andBachelor's degree Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred

or

Experience

1-2 years 1 year RN experience at a MedStar entity

Licenses and Certifications

RN

- Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment, or Multistate Compact state or license eligible.

Upon Hire required andcertification in Basic Life Support.

This position has a hiring range of $38.00 - $63.30
