A law firm in San Mateo, CA, is seeking a Mid-Level Employment Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in employment law. The ideal candidate will demonstrate interest in providing legal advice and counsel to clients and will be well-versed in various aspects of employment law, including litigation and advisory roles. This position requires a commitment to excellence, intense research and communication skills, and a proactive approach to client matters.DutiesProvide legal advice and counsel to clients on employment-related issues, including hiring, terminations, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, trade secrets, managing employees, leaves of absence, and wage and hour law.Draft and review employment-related documents such as employee handbooks, nondisclosure agreements, arbitration agreements, and separation agreements.Represent clients in litigation involving wrongful termination, class and representative actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, and breach of contract.Independently identify legal issues, anticipate necessary next steps, and recommend appropriate actions.Conduct thorough legal and factual research, including investigative work.Maintain accurate and detailed work product with high attention to detail.Collaborate with senior attorneys and provide support in managing client matters.Stay current on developments in employment law and integrate new knowledge into practice.Requirements3-6 years of employment law experience, including litigation and advisory roles.Experience in advising clients on employment issues and drafting relevant documents.Proven ability to manage client matters with minimal supervision.Strong academic credentials.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Exceptional legal and factual/investigative research skills.High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.Intellectual curiosity and a desire to grow professionally.Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.Must be a current member in good standing of the State Bar of California.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.CertificationsAdmission to the State Bar of California.SkillsIn-depth knowledge of employment law, including litigation and advisory matters.Proficiency in drafting legal documents and handling complex legal issues.Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and take initiative in managing client matters.Effective communication skills, both written and oral.High level of attention to detail and accuracy in work product.Commitment to professional growth and excellence in legal practice.Medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Technology Credit Union membership.401(k) plan.Paid parental leave.Teleworking opportunities.No-accrual vacation policy.Company info
