Summary:

The Human Resources Manager leads the Human Resources team in creating and executing intentional, human resources practices that support the CAF America mission and ensures an excellent employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle. The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the operational functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing the organization’s policies and practices and guiding staff learning and development. Additionally, this role will support the Vice President of Human Resources and Operations in the strategic planning and budgeting processes and will be responsible for establishing departmental goals and KPIs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leads the administration and execution of human resource activities including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.Coordinates the implementation of the CAF America’s benefits plans including healthcare, STD/LTD, Group Life, and 401K. May assist employees in making changes to their benefits selections when eligible and will liaise with the benefits broker to address any benefits issues with carriers.Develops innovative employee sourcing, recruitment, retention, and ambassador programs designed to develop a pipeline of qualified and ready to hire candidates.Establishes quantitative and qualitative human capital metrics, guidelines, and standards by which CAF America’s employee engagement and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.Anticipates, identifies and troubleshoots issues of employee concern or significance; exercises discretion to provide timely information and necessary updates to leadership or other stakeholders.Will review and audit the semi-monthly payroll process. Assists in troubleshooting discrepancies and unique payroll concerns.Coordinates the successful onboarding and offboarding of employees collaborating with internal teams to ensure equipment and tech access is prepared, training schedules developed, and internal communications scheduled. Will participate in new hire orientation as well as onboarding check-ins and exit interviews as part of the offboarding process.Develops and implements a refreshed performance management program that drives better performance, enhances employee engagement, and aligns with CAF America’s strategic goals.Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the CRO/General Counsel as well as outside legal support as needed/required for complex compliance and employee relations issues. Provide guidance and interpretation of policies to staff and managers.Ensures the learning and development programs and initiatives provide a streamlined and effective internal development program for staff and leadership.Works closely with management and employees to drive CAF America’s culture by improving work relationships, building morale, implementing DEIB initiatives, and increasing productivity and retention.Drive employee engagement opportunities for both our local and remote workforces.

Supervisory Requirements:

This position manages a team of 3-4 direct reports.
