Hospitality / Property Management / Banquet ServicesSummaryOur Banquet's department is looking to expand our team. Candidates must have open availability or at minimum be available evenings and weekends for pop-up meetings and special events. Customer Service and Food & Beverage experience is a requirement. Must be available to work as a Server and/or Porter.Duties and ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Set up all banquet function items, including china, silverware, glassware, and centerpieces, waiting and beverage stations and perishable items for banquet service.Serve all food and beverages to banquet guests.Clear away all dishes and items used in the service of a banquet, polish, prepare napkins, fill condiments, and perform other duties as required, whenever a Server Assistant is not present.Ensure the proper cleanliness and storage of all items from equipment to perishable foods.Communicate group requests, preferences, special needs and event changes to Event Operations Manager.Closing event cleanliness includes the banquet closets, cabinets in the banquet space which hold décor, votives, glassware, plate ware, silver and glassware.If an event follows either that evening or the next morning, Servers are required to pre-set that space.Ensure the safety of our guests is being monitored while serving non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.Extensive knowledge of our beverage offerings, able to assess customer needs and preferences, making recommendations as necessary.Maintain records of products used including liquors, beers, wine and mixers to ensure bar consumption at all times.Server/Support Banquet team with table service as is necessary, relaying guest requests to the server to complete.Stock, maintain and clean designated food station(s).Retrieve and transport dirty tableware to dishwashing area. Be sure to clean and polish all tableware and return to storage area. Maintain proper pars of all items.

QUALIFICATIONS:

One year of previous experience as a Server/Porter preferred.TIPS and ServSafe Certification required.Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.Ability to regularly lift trays weighing 20+ pounds.Ability to push banquet carts weighing 50+ pounds.Proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English.Must be able to work long hours including evening shifts, weekends, holidays, and pop up special events, as needed.About the CompanyA uniquely different hospitality company, SMASHotels relentlessly pursues the finest talent, trends, and ambiances to create extraordinary experiences.
