Job Overview:

A law firm in San Diego, CA, seeks a skilled and experienced Mid-Level IP Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background and extensive experience in intellectual property litigation, encompassing all stages from pre-trial to post-trial. The role demands high professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage all aspects of IP litigation cases, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial phases.Draft and file pleadings, motions, and briefs in IP litigation matters.Lead and oversee the discovery process, including:

Serving and responding to discovery requests.Handling discovery disputes.Working closely with clients to manage discovery needs.Utilizing e-discovery tools for managing document production.

Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts.Argue motions in court and participate in oral arguments.Assist in trial preparation and in-court representation of clients.Handle arbitration proceedings and represent clients in alternative dispute resolution settings.Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients on IP-related matters.Engage in appellate work, including drafting appellate briefs and arguing before appellate courts.Participate in business development activities and contribute to the firm’s client relations initiatives.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of IP litigation experience; 5+ years strongly preferred.Proven experience across all phases of IP litigation, from pre-trial through post-trial.Strong background in drafting and managing pleadings, discovery, motions, and appeals.Experience with depositions, arguing motions and assisting in trials.Proficiency in managing document discovery using e-discovery tools.Experience in arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.Dedication to maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.Ability to contribute to business development and client relations.Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related technical field.Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the California Bar is strongly preferred.Admission to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is strongly preferred.Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and oral communication abilities.Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to legal practice.High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.Strong client management and relationship-building skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
