website .JOB SUMMARY:This is a Senior Attorney position located in the Informal Dispute Resolution process area. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:Maintain a Florida bar license in good standingResolve complex tax assessments disputes generated by audits, billings, and collections notices and denied refund claims by reviewing audit findings, tax returns, and applicable tax laws and rulesConduct taxpayer conferences to discuss protested tax assessments and/or refund denialsPrepare tax correspondence, notices, and other tax-related documents communicating the Department’s position on requested and disputed tax issuesAssist the Office of General Counsel with review of disputed cases in preparation for litigationTrain and mentor employees in legal research and writing to assist with issuing binding and non-binding tax guidance.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Must be a member of the Florida Bar in good standing.Must have at least two (2) years of professional work experience as an attorney.Experience in the practice of administrative law.PREFERENCES:Experience or education in accounting or auditing.Experience interpreting and applying statutes, regulations, and case law related to corporate income tax.Experience in legal writing or providing instruction in legal writing.Master of Laws (LLM) in tax.SPECIAL NOTES:The position is eligible for working from a remote location within a local Department of Revenue office.SALARY:
