This position is a terrific opportunity for someone to gain additional experience and make a difference in the lives of our clients.For over forty-five years, our organization has provided mental health and holistic services in northern Manhattan for families, children, adolescents, and other adults including the elderly in a supportive and caring environment. We also have an out-patient and residential substance abuse program as well as a Therapeutic Preschool for 3-5 year olds.Upper Manhattan Mental Health Center is a Certified National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site.JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title:

Non-UnionDuties:Provide substance abuse counseling services (crisis intervention, individual and group counseling).Carry an active caseload of 2 to 3 patients if needed.Assist in the development of patients’ service plans and psychosocial assessment if needed.Provide necessary documentation of case records (progress notes and group notes) and statistics as required.Take supervised urine, monitor the facility, and maintain the structure of the house during shift.Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.Reports to:
Program DirectorRequirements:The candidate must have a CASAC or at least one year of paid Substance Abuse Counseling experience with CASAC-T.
