Therapycounselling, Welcome, South Carolina, United States,

Kia Ora and Welcome,

My name is Ban and I’m a registered counsellor with experience working with individuals, kids/teens, and families/parents with whatever issues they are going through. My main purpose is to be present, compassionate, and an open human in the room with you. I focus on building a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space to work through the tough stuff.

It’s okay to be, and sometimes feel, a little messy. Life is messy and I know this isn’t easy! But you don’t have to do it alone, so I am so glad you are exploring options to support yourself. You deserve this!

If you are struggling and need someone to talk to, you are in the right space.

Who I HelpI have been working with individuals, young people (8-19), and whanau/parents for over 5 years now. I have supported people who have loved ones with mental illness. I've supported immigrant individuals and families or young people going through any transition in their life and trying to get back to normal again. Some experience in family and couple work too.

My Counselling Approach

As a counsellor, my training is person-centered and pluralistic (not a one-size-fits-all approach) and I

believe that you are the expert in your own life , so I will collaborate with you to address your unique needs and experiences!

I utilize evidence-based counselling methods such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to name a few. I also draw on these to support your understanding of yourself, how your brain and nervous system work, as well as the knowledge of others’ relationships around you, to find the best ways to overcome challenges and develop coping strategies.

You may have questions about the process or about counselling in general. Please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss this further.

Looking forward to walking alongside you to a journey full of fulfillment and empowerment.Online Therapy

I offer online counselling via Zoom or Teams for 50-60 minutes.Qualifications and Registrations

Provisional member of NZACMaster's degree in counselling theories awaiting completion of research component in 2024Postgraduate diploma in guidance and counsellingHow many sessions do I need?

Everyone is unique and different. Some people need 8-10 sessions to work through what they bring to therapy. Others need a year. It really depends on your willingness to do the work and dig deeper into the root cause of what started things. It can be tough to be in therapy, but it is important to have the right match and fit as therapy is all about your relational relationship and feeling safe to share without fear or misunderstanding and judgement. Most Common Issues I Support People With:
