The Fresno City Attorney's Office seeks a qualified attorney for the Transactions and Municipal Law Unit. The position will involve providing advice and counsel on municipal law matters, drafting documents, legal research, and providing legal advice on complex legal issues. The position may also include representing City departments in commission/board meetings, and drafting agreements, ordinances, and resolutions.Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have the ability to analyze and develop creative resolutions to complex issues and exercise a high degree of maturity, judgment, and discretion in handling client matters, which can include high-profile and politically sensitive issues. Experience with the Brown Act, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and land use law is also desirable.About Fresno:

The City Attorney's Office is an office of 30 attorneys working under the direction of the City Attorney, who is appointed by the City Council. The City Attorney's Office provides legal services to all City departments, staff, and elected officials for a wide range of transactional, code enforcement, and litigation matters.Employment Information:

Attorneys are not represented and serve at the will of the City Attorney. Attorneys must be licensed to practice and in good standing with the State Bar of California. Benefits are excellent, and salary is negotiable, depending upon qualifications. The annual salary range for Deputy City Attorney II is $92,700 - $130,584 and for Deputy City Attorney III is $104,472 - $143,652.Application Process:
