The Law Enforcement Response (LER) Associate will sit on Instacart’s Safety & Claims team and report to the Law Enforcement Response and Information Security Ops Lead. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Legal and other stakeholders in this role. You must be able to operate with a high degree of confidentiality.About the Team –

Instacart's Trust & Safety team takes data-driven, customer-first approaches to ensure we are compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding grocery fulfillment. The Safety & Claims team is responsible for executing on processes critical to ensuring the Instacart platform remains secure and safe for all users.About the JobField time-sensitive inquiries (including emergency requests) from law enforcement regarding Instacart’s policies around disclosing user dataCommunicate Instacart’s user information disclosure policies to internal and external parties with empathy, professionalism, and diplomacyConduct complex investigations to identify users and pull recordsDraft responses to valid subpoenas, warrants, and court orders with precision and attention to detailReview and provide feedback on your team members’ responsesIndependently handle case management tasks, ensuring that the request queue is organized and up-to-dateTake on program management tasks such as QA, process improvements, and metrics reportingAbout YouMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or job-related equivalent experience in lieu of degree2+ years of experience in legal operations, privacy operations, or a similar fieldExcellent writing skillsAbility to communicate about complex, nuanced policy and legal issues to internal and external stakeholders in sensitive and potentially high-visibility situationsAbility to navigate emergency situations in a calm, meticulous, detail-oriented mannerComfortable using Google Drive to collaborate with colleaguesComfortable with basic data analysis using Excel or Google SheetsFamiliarity with legal language and US/CAN criminal justice systemInterest in issues related to law, public safety, and privacyPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with applicable privacy laws and regulationsExperience using investigative tools to conduct searches and identify records based on minimal informationBasic understanding of SQLComfortable using Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF editing softwareCompensation and BenefitsInstacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Offers may vary based on many factors, such as candidate experience and skills required for the role. Additionally, this role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants.Base Pay Ranges for US-based Candidates:CA, NY, CT, NJ: $75,000 — $83,000 USDWA: $72,000 — $80,000 USDOR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $68,000 — $76,000 USDAll other states: $62,000 — $69,000 USD
