Responsibilities

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Essential Duties:
  • Coordinate and support monthly financial close, cycle counts, and inventory audits
  • Reviews vendor invoices for payments of manufacturing raw materials, including research, correspondence, and follow-up of discrepancies
  • Monthly reconciliations of vendor statements vs. raw material payables
  • Conduct reviews of accounting of variances (PPV, Inventory, Absorption, etc.) directing improvement plans to the business
  • Monthly raw material standard vs. actual reconciliation and corresponding variance explanations
  • Various general ledger account reconciliations - ensuring accurate financial postings
  • Maintains, reviews, and communicates cost center expenses in conjunction with FP&A Team, ensuring proper documentation and system entries
  • Ability to identify issues and work within the finance team and other teams to resolve the issues
  • Advanced understanding of how supply chain flow and manufacturing processes interact with the general ledger
  • Manage fixed asset acquisition, capitalization and life cycle activities
  • Build bottom up comprehensive inventory cost roll using standard cost principles.
  • Works closely and collaboratively across multi-department teams
  • Communicate effectively with fellow team members and members of other departments
  • Ability to use reasoning to solve problems that may arise
  • Utilize established resources to complete work efficiently and effectively
  • Timeliness and accuracy of work is important
  • Supports Cost Accounting efforts for maintaining JSOX Internal Controls
  • Assists with maintenance of accounting policies and procedures as they are developed.
  • Assist auditors with any inquiries and samples
  • Other various administrative support as needed

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:
  • Basic/Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar discipline
  • Preferred: Advanced degree


Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in cost accounting
  • Fundamental understanding of general accounting principles and procedures (GAAP)
  • Advanced literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheets and database functions for tracking, variance analysis and reporting Knowledge of SAP, Oracle or another fully integrated ERP system
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SAP S4
  • Strong time management skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized, with a strong analytical and problem-solving skill set
  • Ability to respond in a timely and courteous manner to internal and external customers
  • Capable of handling confidential information in a responsible manner
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager/controller
  • Ability to work with domestic and international teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure


Preferred Certification(s):
  • CPA or MBA
