On-site Patient Services Representative

*Description:*Responsible for exemplary customer service in greeting and orientation of patients and visitors to the hospital. Interviews the patient for complete demographic and financial data to complete the registration process accurately, efficiently and promptly. Collects appropriate monies, obtains appropriate signatures, notifies patients/guests of hospital regulations, policies and services.Demonstrated customer service skills required.Exceptional interpersonal skills to interview, educate and advise patients of hospital policies and the professionalism to positively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization are required.Knowledge of the financial requirements of insurances, HMO and PPO organizations and state and federal programs.Must be articulate and skilled in teaching patients how to access the healthcare system.Intermediate level typing skills required.Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Must have the ability to work in a fast paced area, where the performance and concentration of several tasks may be required simultaneously.*Shifts:** Monday to Friday 5:30am to 2pm (Wednesday 6:30-3pm) Peri-OPS* Sunday to Thursday 10:00pm - 6:30am ED* Monday to Friday 11:30am-8:pm L&D* Sat Sunday 8:30a-5:00pm ED (16 hours PT)* Sat Sun 8:30a-5:00pm General Admitting (16 hours PT)We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
