Two (2) years of experience in a clinical or counseling setting, including a college counseling center or community agency. Must be licensed to function autonomously in KY. Must be eligible to provide clinical supervision to 1+ graduate student trainees in compliance with licensing board requirements. Grade 7 (Salary).Position Description:Campus Health Services at the University of Louisville has an opening for Counselor II. The position is full time and provides individual, group, and couples therapy, as well as crisis intervention primarily to students on the HSC campus. This position also provides outreach programming as needed or requested by various units or groups on mental health topics and issues.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provides evidence-based and culturally competent counseling services to HSC students in Medical, Dental, Nursing, Public Health and Information Sciences at the Health Sciences Center utilizing brief models of psychotherapy including individual, group, and crisis interventions to a diverse student body both in-person and via telehealth.Conducts substance abuse assessments and interventions.Assists various schools, departments or units in the evaluations of high risk cases and participates in campus crisis response following disruptive events.Coordinates care with Campus Health Service primary care and psychiatric providers as needed.Conducts outreach presentations on mental health topics for HSC students and various minority groups including LGBTQ and veteran students.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience in an educational environment.Prior experience in working in a medical/healthcare setting.Experience working with eating disorder clients.Experience working with all types of trauma.Prior experience in working with diverse populations including LGBTQ, International, Military Veterans, Diverse Cultures.Competencies:Understand Federal, State and University regulations and policies including FERPA, HIPAA, Title IX and UofL's Student Code of Conduct.Ability to interact with diverse constituencies.Experience with group counseling.Experience in application of psychology to developmental, social and educational purposes.Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.Computer skills including electronic charting systems, email, MS Word, PowerPoint.Compensation will be commensurate with candidate experience.Equal Employment Opportunity:The University of Louisville is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer, and is committed to providing employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, ethnicity, creed, religion, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, marital status, pregnancy, or veteran status.
