Arrange follow-up testing (donors, etc.) as required by applicable research or follow-up study or at donor, physician or Scientific Support Office (SSO) request.Log and monitor follow up study cases using an approved database. Generate reports from database to track progress and facilitate timely closure of cases.Investigate and gather supporting documentation for donor reentry and reinstatement.Manage follow-up testing and upgrade deferral status as a result of additional follow-up test results.Remove deferral codes from donors who are again eligible due to change in eligibility criteria or via approved donor re-entry protocols.Notify donors of changes in eligibility status and eligibility for re-entry testing.Following established procedures, notifies, educates, and counsels blood donors regarding blood transmissible infectious agents.In accordance with policy, investigate and educate donors regarding follow up studies, the significance of health history information and risk factors, interpret test results, and provide accurate and sensitive donor counseling.Research records in order to retrieve requested information.Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations.SHIFT:

Monday- Friday, 12:00PM - 8:30PM with rotating SaturdaysSalary starts at:

$19.86 hourly + Shift Differential (+$1.75 after 3pm & +$2.75 on the weekends)Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in health science, biology, nursing, medical technology, infectious disease counseling or equivalent combination of education and related experience is required. Demonstrated competence in infections disease counseling or related function. Minimum three years work experience in a hospital, laboratory, infectious disease or sexually transmitted disease clinic setting is required with at least two years of counseling in those specific areas.Public health or blood banking experience in a highly regulated setting is preferred, with particular emphasis on knowledge of STD’s, and infectious disease testing. The ability to interact effectively with others is required. Intermediate to advanced level computer skills with Microsoft Office applications in a Windows environment is required.Competencies:The duties and responsibilities mentioned in the job description are representative of the essential functions of the position.
