POSITION SUMMARY

The Breakthrough Research & Economics Team transforms industry information into actionable insights for our internal team and clients, while embodying our culture of thought leadership in our work.

The Market Research Analyst Intern brings transportation energy and freight market information to life for current and prospective clients. In addition to learning about transportation energy and freight markets in North America, this role will have a primary responsibility for a project that will drive value for the company in an exploratory area or in an area to fortify Breakthrough's current offerings.

This role will start May 2025 and go on through August 2025 and work out of our Breakthrough office in Green Bay, WI.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Special Research ProjectThis project will focus upon transportation energy or freight market solutions in an exploratory area or area that reinforces Breakthrough's current services.

Collaboration across other business units-allowing for exposure to other areas of Breakthrough-is highly likely.

AResearch & Economicsteam member will be a mentor and will help guide the progress of the project.

The final output includes a presentation of work and findings to the BreakthroughResearch & Economics Teamand Senior Leadership teams.

Expand and Share Market ExpertiseGrow our knowledge and support client requests for market data and insights.

Monitor the dynamics and current activity of the U.S. and Canada transportation fuel and freight markets.

Learn and execute core functions that support the business.

Mercury GroupThe Mercury Group is our annual client conference.

Research & Economics is a significant contributor to content concerning transportation energy, policy, freight markets, and sustainability to name a few topics.

The internship will involve small research projects to support the team's conference preparations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Studying Business, Supply Chain, Statistics, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field

Self-Motivation with the Ability to Work Independently

Research Experience Involving Data and Analytics

Strong Writing Skills

Effective Discussion and Communication

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
