We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental health and safety, including experience with Title 5 regulations and a proven track record in managing EHS programs in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities:
As an EHS Manager, you will:
- Develop, implement, and manage health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about safety procedures, accident prevention, and environmental stewardship.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to develop strategic plans for continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
- Manage the preparation and submission of all required environmental permits, reports, and documentation.
- Lead the company's emergency response plan and serve as the primary contact during emergencies.
- Stay current with industry trends, new regulations, and best practices in EHS management and incorporate this knowledge into company programs.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations, including Title 5.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and EHS management systems.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and manage stressful situations.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field and undergo necessary training.
