SUMMARYThe

Supervising Engineer

will partner with design teams to maintain the quality of complex improvement projects within the energy and utilities organization. The

Supervising Engineer

reports directly to the Manager, Design Services and will be responsible for designing a diverse range of projects, from overhead and underground transmission lines to gas-insulated substations. The

Supervising Engineer

will develop projects from the conceptual phase through design completion in accordance with approved project drawings and specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview of client provided project descriptions to assess scope and designMaintain high level of quality and responsiveness to client requirementsAssist with the development of engineering/project cost estimates and schedulesDevelop design packages for power generation, transmission, and/or distribution projects. Design packages include detailed calculations, drawings, technical specifications, proposal evaluations, technical reports, cost estimates, and other documents required for constructionEnsure that all projects meet safety standards in accordance with OSHA, state regulations and other industry best practicesPerform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering7+ years of relevant post-education experience providing deliverables related to the planning, design, and construction of electric and/or gas transmission and distribution, electrical substations, and/or other related systems and facilities. Design-build and/or Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) experience preferred.2+ years supervising engineering staff preferred.Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or ability to obtain by comity/reciprocityKnowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures including:Microsoft Office SuiteAutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or GIS toolsCoordination of conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirementsComplex projects in dense urban environments, construction permit development, easements, and ROW coordinationDemonstrated attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specificationsAbility to demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skillsIf you are looking for the opportunity to gain invaluable experience and thrive in a collaborative environment, this may be the position for you.
