Requirements for Production Superintendent Plant Management

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Management, or a related field.

Master's degree (MBA) can be an advantage for larger operations.

7-10 years in manufacturing or production, with progressive leadership roles.

5-7 years of experience in a supervisory or production management role.

Experience in plant operations, safety regulations, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement processes.

Hands-on experience with production processes, machinery, scheduling, and team management.

Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (preferred but not required).

Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or safety standards (OSHA) are beneficial.

Working knowledge and understanding of SAP or ERP systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Career Opportunity For Production Superintendent Plant Management

This role will be responsible for overseeing product manufacturing, finished product quality, and raw material management for multiple lines in a 24-hour union manufacturing plant, as well as employee training and development.

This position is the primary role of the Plant Superintendent, who will lead a team of 125 hourly employees and 3 salaried employees in a union environment. Will be responsible for all aspects of the operation, including safety, production, maintenance, warehouse, budget management, productivity improvements, and quality.

As the Superintendent, you will also be responsible for communicating and supporting corporate goals and facility targets for safety, productivity, and product quality, effectively problem-solving and troubleshooting process and personnel issues, and developing corrective actions.

The Superintendent may also support the facility by assuming the responsibilities of the Plant Manager in his/her absence.

Manage product manufacturing, finished product quality, and raw material management for the operation.

Supervise manufacturing resources to meet production goals and assist in preparation of budgets and standards for cost measurement.

Develop and administer material and labor usage controls and metrics.

Plan and schedule work to utilize equipment and maintain maximum productivity levels.

Utilize operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, machine downtime, expenditure control, and other shift functions.

Ensure production activities are in compliance with company policies and procedures and that manufactured goods meet finished product specifications.

Maintain strict compliance with all financial, legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements within the operation. Actively support improvement of safety performance by reducing OSHA incident rate and lost time accidents to 0.
