TasksWe are seeking a part-time Attorney in the Netherlands who can serve as counsel for multiple related entities in an arbitration proceeding (an arbitration proceeding was already completed). The issues involve contract law, business transaction/capital, and insolvency. In this role, the candidate will work with another in-house attorney.

Responsibilities:

Draft briefs and motions and litigate claims.

Conduct thorough legal research and review legal challenges.

Attend court hearings and manage filings as necessary.

Assist with developing and implementing litigation strategies.

Prepare and maintain comprehensive legal documentation.

Negotiate and draft commercial agreements.

Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

RequirementsGood standing with the Dutch Bar Association and living in the Netherlands REQUIRED to apply.

Required Qualifications:

Must be interested in Arbitration Work.

Living and practicing in the Netherlands.

Strong research skills and experience in conducting legal research and drafting memoranda of law.

Proven experience in working in Arbitration in the Netherlands.

Good standing with the Dutch Bar Association.

Effective writing and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to draft, create, and prepare motions and trial materials.

Proficiency in corresponding with the judiciary and other law firms via all forms of communication.

Competence in attending court appearances, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

Ability to prepare clients for all related appearances.

Demonstrated ability to develop appropriate options to accomplish goals in a timely manner.

Proven strategic planning and organizational skills, with the ability to collect data, analyze facts, and draw conclusions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in commercial litigation.

Familiarity with electronic discovery processes and litigation technology tools.

Strong negotiation skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Hiring process is to submit your resume, after which the Chief of Staff will reach out to you. You will have 2 or 3 interviews with the Stakeholder, and 2 in-house attorneys.
