The Assistant Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in the financial operations of the hotel. - Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for senior management, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct regular reviews of financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights to support decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with operational goals.
- Monitor budgetary performance throughout the year, recommending adjustments as needed to maintain financial targets.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits of financial processes and transactions, addressing any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by providing financial expertise and insights to support long-term growth objectives.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and capital projects, conducting financial analysis and ROI assessments.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts, negotiating favorable terms and conditions to optimize cost savings and service quality.
- Review vendor invoices and payments, verifying accuracy and adherence to contractual agreements.
- Training and Development:
- Provide guidance and training to finance staff, fostering professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements relevant to financial management in the hospitality sector.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial management software.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex financial data accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
- Adaptability to flexible work schedules, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate business needs.
- Fluency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace, with proficiency in reading and writing to facilitate communication.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the hotel industry, with demonstrated leadership and managerial capabilities.
