Job Description

You will lead a team of strategic program managers to run business operations for the Compliance organization at Block. You will oversee daily team operations, which includes leading prioritization and execution, communications, managing partnerships with finance, HR, and recruiting, and ensuring our teams meet committed timelines. This is a high visibility role with exposure to multiple areas of the business, and an opportunity to get involved in many compliance related projects.

You will report to the Compliance's Head of Strategic Operations, and have direct exposure to executive leadership across the organization.

You Will:

Determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments while leading a team of experienced Program Managers

Oversee the annual and quarterly planning process for Compliance across all business units and foundational teams, including goal setting and tracking

Oversee budget management and partnership with finance and strategy

Partner directly with HR on organizational design and change management

Partner with recruiting to manage the recruiting strategy, including headcount management, hiring, and approvals

Develop a communications strategy to ensure the right information is being shared with the right people at the right time across the organization, including escalations to executive leadership and all hands content

Lead strategic programs such as cost of compliance analyses, AI and other technical investments

Oversee strategic investments and M&A due diligence, and integration of new company acquisitions

Lead RFPs, vendor management, and contract negotiation and renewals

Present to the leadership team and Block executives to ensure cross-functional alignment

Understand Block, Cash App, Square, TIDAL, TBD and all company business strategies and work with product and technology partners to ensure alignment

Identify and implement operational and efficiency improvements

Qualifications

10+ years of business operations management and leadership experience in either a strategy, finance, or other directly applicable function

Superb writing, presenting and communication skills, demonstrating clear thinking and the ability to articulate complex concepts in simple terms

Experience managing teams through significant change

Exceptional leadership and influencing capabilities, and are comfortable working with all teams and levels of employees

Experience presenting to senior leadership

A data-driven approach to prioritization

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to anticipate roadblocks and align all partners

Experience making swift decisions, managing competing deadlines, and using discretion when handling complex, confidential scenarios

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
