Job OverviewIn support of Morehouse School of Medicine’s Vision; “Leading the creation and advancement of health equity,” the Department of Internal Medicine is seeking Physicians to join their team.
The Department of Internal Medicine at the Morehouse School of Medicine is recruiting a Chief of our General Internal Medicine Division. The division consists of twenty-four faculty members, nine of which are hospitalists, thirteen general internists, and two nocturnists. It is anticipated that 20 percent of the division chief’s time will be spent administrating the division. Clinically, we are looking for someone who would primarily staff our resident clinic at the Grady Memorial Hospital although there is the opportunity to spend some time on our inpatient teaching service. The clinical time would represent 70 percent of the chief’s time. Ten percent of the time is dedicated to teaching activities. If interested in performing research, that is also negotiable. Requisites for the position include ability to apply for a Georgia license, board certification in Internal Medicine, and preferably experience as an assistant division chief. However, some other administrative experience is also acceptable. The salary is competitive.
Minimum Qualifications
MD degree
Georgia Medical License
Board Certification in Internal Medicine
Preferred experience in medical student and/or resident teaching
Good interpersonal skills
High level of professionalism
Job Duties
Serve on department, institutional and community-based committees
May serve as Course Director for undergraduate medical education courses
May provide resident and medical student supervision
May undertake clinical responsibilities at Morehouse Healthcare, Grady Health Systems, or other affiliated sites as assigned
Assist with resident recruitment, including interviewing candidates

Immunization RequirementsIt is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
