Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Legal Counsel to join our executive team. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal guidance and support to ensure the organization's compliance with healthcare regulations, employee and corporate contracts, and employment laws across multiple states. This role is crucial in protecting the company’s interests, managing legal risks, and supporting our mission to deliver exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities:

Healthcare Compliance:

Provide expert legal advice on healthcare regulations, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Oversee legal aspects of healthcare operations, including patient rights, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.

Employee and Corporate Contracts:

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including employee agreements, service contracts, and corporate partnerships. Ensure contracts are compliant with applicable laws and aligned with the company’s strategic goals.

Multi-State Operations:

Manage legal matters related to the company’s operations across multiple states. Stay updated on state-specific regulations and ensure compliance in all jurisdictions where the company operates.

Employment Law:

Advise on employment law issues, including hiring practices, employee relations, terminations, and workplace policies. Develop and implement employment policies that mitigate legal risks and promote a positive work environment.

Non-Solicit and Non-Compete Agreements:

Draft and enforce non-solicit and non-compete agreements to protect the company’s business interests. Handle disputes related to non-solicit and non-compete clauses.

Legal Risk Management:

Identify and assess legal risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them. Provide training and guidance to staff on legal issues and compliance matters.

Knowledge of and experience with IN network contract negotiation/review/administration

General Risk Compliance:

Knowledge of Property, General Liability, Professional, Directors and Officers, Umbrella, Employment Practices, Cyber, Auto, Etc ("Package Policies"). Insurance application/administration within healthcare industry. Knowledge of operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with "Package Policies". Main point of contact for all "package policy claims" and all facility level incident reports.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar; multi-state bar memberships preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a focus on healthcare, employment law, and corporate contracts.

Proven experience in a senior legal role within the healthcare industry, preferably in behavioral health or addiction treatment.

Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, and state-specific laws.

Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.

Ability to manage complex legal issues and provide practical, solution-oriented advice.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with executive teams.

Pay:

$236,000-$302,000
