Salary: $95,000 to $105,000 (plus competitive benefits package & performance bonus)

About the RoleAs the Chief Development Officer (CDO) at EHCEC, you will be a vital member of our executive leadership team, directly reporting to the CEO. You will lead a small yet dynamic team, including a full-time Director of Marketing, a part-time Development Specialist, and interns. Your role is crucial in steering the resource development department toward success. This includes designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, managing the department's budget, elevating our fundraising efforts, and guiding, mentoring, and evaluating your team to ensure their growth and performance align with our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:Relationship Strategy & Innovation:

Develop and execute a bold, dynamic fundraising strategy that aligns with our vision and fuels our growth.

Identify and seize opportunities to connect with high-value donors, corporate partners, and community influencers who share our passion for change.

Collaborate closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to set ambitious fundraising goals that drive our mission forward.

Utilize strategic problem-solving to overcome challenges and turn potential obstacles into opportunities for growth.

High-Impact Fundraising:

Lead with passion and purpose as you spearhead efforts to secure transformative gifts, sponsorships, and partnerships.

Leverage your relationship-building prowess to cultivate long-lasting connections with key donors and stakeholders.

Utilize cutting-edge data analytics to refine strategies, ensuring every relationship is optimized for maximum impact.

Engagement & Loyalty Building:

Design and implement a world-class engagement plan that turns supporters into lifelong advocates.

Oversee personalized donor recognition programs that celebrate our supporters and deepen their connection to our mission.

Ensure every interaction is meaningful, memorable, and aligned with our brand's core values.

Apply project management techniques to streamline and enhance donor engagement initiatives, ensuring timely execution and consistent results.

Inspirational Leadership & Team Empowerment:

Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing resource development team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Create a collaborative environment where creativity thrives, and every team member is empowered to contribute to our collective success.

Board & Stakeholder Collaboration:

Partner with the Board of Directors to amplify their role in relationship-building and fundraising.

Equip board members with the tools and insights they need to be powerful ambassadors for our cause.

Brand Advocacy & Public Relations:

Be the face of the East Harris County Empowerment Council at key events, conferences, and meetings, elevating our brand and expanding our network of supporters.

Collaborate with our marketing and communications team to craft compelling messages that resonate with our target audiences.

Strategic Budgeting & Resource Management:

Take ownership of the resource development budget, ensuring every dollar is spent strategically to maximize our reach and impact.

Monitor progress against goals, adjusting strategies as needed to exceed expectations.

Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of key relationship management projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications:Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in nonprofit relationship management, fundraising, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in cultivating and maintaining key relationships.

Experience in a senior leadership role with responsibility for strategic planning, team management, and board engagement.

Proven success in developing and executing innovative funding strategies that deliver measurable outcomes.

Proficient in the use of relationship management tools, donor databases, and project management software.
