DEPARTMENT : ExecutivePOSITION OBJECTIVE : Manage and support organizational fundraising initiatives aimed at corporate sponsors, grant makers, and individual donors, working to secure resources to further the goals of American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) and American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture (AFBFA).REPORTS TO:

Director, Industry RelationsLOCATION:

Washington, DC, ability to earn telework 2 days/weekDUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESWork in collaboration with the Director, Industry Relations and the Managing Director, AFBFA to develop and implement external sponsorship fundraising strategies for AFBF and AFBFA including:

Surface and build relationships with new sponsorsIdentify and sell sponsorship opportunitiesAttend meetings with new and existing sponsors and follow up as neededDemonstrate value to sponsors by gathering and sharing appropriate measures of success

Assist in relationship management and project deliverables for existing sponsorsCoordinate planning and execution of Industry Relations and AFBFA events and programs related to sponsorships and fundraising, including those at the annual conventionProvide communication support for internal and external audiences with an emphasis on consistent and creative engagement with sponsorsAssist with the accounting procedures connected to sponsorshipsAFBF RESPONSIBILITIESIdentify opportunities for sponsor companies to engage with Farm Bureau members and be recognized at events aligned with sponsor business objectivesIn collaboration with the full Industry Relations team and other teams within AFBF, contribute to the development of strategic campaigns and collaboration opportunities with industry partnersManage development of sales materials promoting sponsorshipsAFBFA RESPONSIBILITIESWork in collaboration with the Managing Director, AFBFA to write grant proposals to secure additional resources for the AFBFA and assist in meeting reporting requirements for funds awardedProvide staff support for the Foundation Board’s Relationship CommitteeServe as an enthusiastic spokesperson for the Foundation at events, including trade shows, conferences, and sponsor or in-office presentationsWork collaboratively with other Foundation staff on internal development efforts, including fundraising events such as the annual Flapjack FundraiserSurface and pursue new AFBFA funding possibilities including grants and large individual donorsRELATIONSHIPS:Collaborate with industry sponsors, the Director, Industry Relations and the Managing Director, AFBFA to achieve financial goals of Industry Relations initiatives.EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Minimum 3-5 years related work experienceExperience working independently and as part of a teamExperience in fundraising via industry sponsorshipsExcellent oral and written communication, time management, project planning and organizational skillsPREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/SKILLS:Knowledge of agriculture industry, supply chain and emerging issuesExperience with Farm BureauExperience with writing and managing grantsOTHER REQUIREMENTS:Travel as neededPublic speakingBENEFITS:Health, dental, and vision benefits401(k) and pension retirement plansGroup Term Life Insurance, supplemental coverage availablePaid vacation, sick, parental and other employee leaveEducational assistance programCompany paid relocation
