Leadership, Education & Engagement (LEE)POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Engage members in the organization through Collegiate Farm Bureau and Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) leadership development programs and activities.REPORTS TO:

Senior Director, Member EngagementLOCATION:

Washington, DC; eligible to earn telework 2 days/weekDUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide staff support for Collegiate Farm Bureau programs and related projects, including but not limited to the following:Build and maintain relationships and serve as a resource to state staff in developing and managing Collegiate programs.Implement the Collegiate Discussion Meet competition. Provide leadership and support for the full competition cycle, manage the online platform and scoring software, serve as a key contact for states, competitors and judges, coordinate committee involvement, submit sponsorship grant requests, manage timelines and communications, distribute competitor feedback, and update event manuals, guides, toolkits and support materials.Manage the Social Media Ambassador program, MANRRS Fellow program and collegiate breakout session track associated with the annual conference.Manage the Collegiate Farm Bureau mini grant program.Present programs related to Collegiate Farm Bureaus as requested.

Provide leadership and support for growing the leadership pipeline for YF&R members, including but not limited to the following:Serve as the staff point-of-contact for AFBF Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with partnering youth and collegiate organizations, including but not limited to FFA, 4-H, MANRRS and AFA.Coordinate all activities, engagements, and responsibilities associated with the MOU programs of work and sponsorshipsAssist in managing the AFBF booth held during the National FFA Convention.Coordinate youth engagement programming at the AFBF Annual Convention and YF&R/FUSION Conference.

Provide leadership and support for YF&R programs, projects, and activities, including but not limited to the following:Serve as staff point of contact for the YF&R Discussion Meet subcommitteeImplement the full cycle of the YF&R Discussion Meet competition. Including manage the online platform and scoring software, serve as a key contact for states, competitors and judges, coordinate committee involvement, manage timelines and communications, distribute competitor feedback, and update event manuals, guides, toolkits and support materials.Assist with the development and implementation of the committee onboarding and Summer meeting meetings, including but not limited to logistics, timelines, content prep, expense processing, etc.Oversee the implementation of the Accurate Ag Book program with the YF&R committee.

Collaborate with Senior Director, Member Engagement and Accounting to develop and manage the Collegiate and Youth budget planning and implementation.Provide details for reports to the AFBF Board of Directors on Collegiate and Youth programs.Assist in other program areas within the Leadership, Education & Engagement Department as needed.RELATIONSHIPS:Work daily with the Senior Director, Member Engagement and alongside the Assistant Director, Member Engagement for all YF&R programming. Collaborate with members of the LEE Department, other AFBF staff, affiliated company staff, and volunteer leaders as needed.EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a professional environment.EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Minimum 3 years’ experience in program coordination, development, and implementationMust be detailed oriented with strong communication, presentation, time management and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteComprehensive understanding of the Zoom virtual meeting platformExperience in building and maintaining professional partnershipsExperience in writing and editing correspondence and updating databases; comfortable with mail mergePREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/SKILLS:Farm Bureau knowledge/experience is preferredExperience working with volunteers, especially in agricultureExperience with Office 365 tools for a collaborative work environmentDegree in a related fieldOTHER REQUIREMENTS:Ability to travel (approximately 15-20%) for on-site meetingsAbility to work evenings or weekends as neededBENEFITS:Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) and Pension PlansPaid Time Off and Sick LeaveShort- and Long-Term DisabilityEducation Reimbursement ProgramTO APPLY:Please submit a cover letter and resume here .600 Maryland Avenue SWSuite 1000 Washington DC 20024
