Reporting to the SVP of Revenue, the Senior Director of Cole Society and Membership Giving serves as a key member of the United Way of Greater Atlantas Office of Development. Following internal policies and best practices relating to giving society management and fundraising, the SDCSMG will work collaboratively with multiple Development Teams, and other UWGA staff. The SDCSMG will provide direction, planning and implementation of strategies to drive overall year-over-year net growth in aggregate revenue and membership for the Cole Society, and will coordinate with SVP of Revenue, and Marketing Team to build and develop a membership giving program as well as manage the Annual Fund giving campaign and strategic plan while maintaining and building superior donor relationships and meeting measurable goals. Additionally, the SDCSMG will build and manage a fluid portfolio of prospects responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewardship of donor prospects capable of supporting at the $1,000 Cole Society level with growth potential to give at the Tocqueville Society level of $10,000 and above within a dynamic, fast-paced fundraising environment.

The position will work closely with colleagues across departments, volunteers, boards, community leaders and a variety of others, and must be collaborative, professional, innovative, responsible and more while maintaining a strong work ethic and attention to detail. It is also essential that the SDCSMG be well versed in giving society management, fundraising strategy, the art and science of individual fundraising, and have significant experience in closing individual gifts, collaborating with others to close gifts, and managing individual portfolios. The SDCSMG will spend approximately 50% of their time each month working to reimagine and launch a new vision for the Cole Society to implement and guide strategy for the retention, growth and engagement of all major gift donors, and 50% of their time each month overseeing the Annual Fund giving strategies and success, working with marketing to build and launch a membership giving program, and managing the team to success.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe SDCSMG will be responsible for the following goals, duties, and responsibilities:

Develop and execute the Cole Societys growth plan at a net growth rate in revenue raised and membership consistent with the annual plan.

Develop a strategy, plan, and direct all Cole society fundraising, recruitment, and retention activities.

Responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the strategic plan by working with the President, SVP of Revenue, VP of Major Gifts, and appropriate team members and volunteers.

Direct and execute all events and activities that support Cole Society membership recruitment, stewardship and engagement.

Establish and manage a quality control system for all Cole Society related marketing materials and communications.

Work with the Major Gift Team to develop individual strategic pipeline development and cultivation plans for key donors and donor prospects.

Ensure all Cole Society data is current, appropriate to goals and outcomes.

Secure a minimum of 50 approved face-to-face visits per year, no fewer than 4 per month.

Qualifying 30 new portfolio level prospects.

Partner with marketing to develop and launch a new membership giving program aimed at driving donor acquisition outside of the workplace.

Manage the Director of Annual Fund and Associate Director of Annual Fund to retain and grow current donors outside the workplace and develop a stewardship and retention strategy for donors inside the workplace not in major gift portfolios.

Securing annual dollar goal for Cole Society and direct reports as set by Development leadership.

Making all contacts necessary via phone, email, other, to achieve the above-mentioned results.

Documenting all data necessary to track said goals through the timely submission of activity within the UWGA CRM, as required by internal policies.

Develop, implement, and manage a productive, fluid portfolio of prospects through best practices.

Exceed all yearly revenue and metric-driven goals.

Promote collaboration, recognizing our shared goals, and regularly collaborate with colleagues within the Office of Development and other departments as needed.

Ensure the proper stewardship of individuals.

Increase awareness and knowledge among prospects, donors and other key stakeholders about the Child Well-Being Movement.

Develop a solid and detailed working knowledge of United Ways funding priorities and products

Other duties as assigned by the SVP of Revenue.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree required.

Experience with annual giving societies.

5+ years of fundraising experience, including the demonstrated ability to identify, cultivate, and close major gifts.

Advanced interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Organization skills for a fast-paced work environment.

Microsoft Office knowledge including, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

Experience with CRM/database management

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree

AFP CFRE certification

Experience implementing and managing capital campaigns.

Demonstrated fundraising innovation, especially as it relates to portfolio management.

Successful solicitation of major gifts from individuals.
