Purpose of Role

As the Global Head of Brand Protection, you will be leading a team of professionals charged with protecting the Under Armour Brand across three regions.

Your Impact

Provide the team with strategic initiatives and direction for investigating criminal activity related to intellectual property and trademark violations for our brand throughout the world, including identifying counterfeits, grey market, parallel imports, diverted goods, and online infringements.

The primary focus will be our designated core markets/countries, which include all current markets and those markets most immediately designated for future expansion.

Conduct reviews of case reports covering investigative details and findings, as well as identifying control weaknesses with recommended solutions.

Coordinate efforts with UA teammates to determine the authenticity of infringing products.

Provide guidance on the selection and coordination of investigative efforts with private investigative groups, global law enforcement, customs agencies, and corporate attorneys.

Conduct brand training for global authorities charged with counterfeit identification and control.

Administer and manage the brand protection budget and programs, including managing our regional law firms, investigative partners, online service providers, and audit firms.

Oversee the BP audit program and brand protection training within our approved tier one manufacturing facilities.

Investigate and support supply chain security initiatives with clear strategies.

Support corporate and regional business initiatives to pursue shared business objectives.

Identify and advise the business of best practices in the brand protection space.

Maintain communications with legal leadership regarding critical ongoing case work.

Provide testimony and swear to legal documents on behalf of Under Armour.

Organize and lead quarterly brand protection council meetings with regional ELT members.

Manage and oversee various special projects designed to enhance the global brand protection program’s effectiveness.

Qualifications

4-year degree preferred.

15+ years of international brand protection experience; previous leadership positions preferred.

Knowledgeable in intellectual property rights.

Experience with online enforcement tools and procedures.

Computer skills to include case writing and case management, along with experience in digital photography.

Minimum of 40% travel anticipated.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Multi-lingual with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Must pass a comprehensive background check.

Ability to be on your feet and walk long distances regularly.

Ability to work independently, establishing team strategy, work plans, and accomplishing team goals.

Base Compensation

$219,313.00 - $301,555.10 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience for the position.
