We are seeking to hire an
Assistant Vice President, Reinsurance Claims , whose responsibilities will include:
Managing a caseload of reinsurance claims for Workers Compensation, General Liability, Property, Automobile, Excess, and Umbrella.
Communicating with brokers and client company to gather claim information.
Developing a complete knowledge of reinsurance insurance products (treaty, facultative, and semi-automatic).
Determining treaty and policy coverage through analysis of investigation data and treaty/policy terms.
Conducting claim audits of new and run-off accounts (both remote and on-site at ceding company’s office).
Interacting with company actuaries, underwriters, financial, and accounting teams on assigned accounts.
Attending reinsurance/claims seminars.
Establishing claim reserve requirements and making adjustments over the life of a claim.
Learning and applying the Sarbanes-Oxley process and controls.
Analyzing claim spreadsheets for trends and exposure.
Minimum Requirements:
7-10 years of primary claims experience.
Bachelors’ Degree required, JD preferred.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Able to navigate multiple systems.
Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills along with the aptitude to grasp legal terminology.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
