Habitat for Humanity is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and visionary Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts and propel our mission forward.

As the Development Director, you will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive development strategy that drives growth and supports our ambitious goals. You will work closely with the Executive Director, staff, and volunteers to cultivate and steward donor relationships, build corporate partnerships, and secure major gifts. Your work will directly impact our ability to provide affordable housing solutions to families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy: Develops and executes ongoing strategy for donors to ensure retention, growth of donor contributions as well as recapture from previous donors. Creates annual fundraising & donor management plan.

Fundraising: Manages donors and prospects with intent to form deep relationships. Responsible for minimum annual fundraising goal as specified in performance standards, including both renewable gifts and new incremental revenue. Personally solicits donors through face to face visits, including preparation of personalized materials.

Prospect Development: Implements programs/activities to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors, with an emphasis on maximizing revenue for the organization. Works with Executive Director to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward appropriate donors. Identifies potential planned giving prospects among assigned donors and partners. Updates donor records in CRM database following donor contacts.

Relationship Development: Develops ongoing relationships with donors. Accountable for cultivating relationships for individual fundraising, organizational fundraising or both as outlined below:

o Individuals: Cultivates relationships with individual donors personally

o Organizations: Preparation and implementation of grant writing strategies, with plan to engage foundation staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is highly desirable.

Minimum of 3 years’ sales and/or fundraising experience required. Proven experience and success in developing strategies for donor retention growth required.

Significant expertise with the area's funding community and knowledge of "best practices" in development highly desirable.
