Suwannee County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants forFIRE LIEUTENANTThis non-exempt fulltime position with the Suwannee County Fire Rescue Services is responsible for management work in command of a shift/station of the department. In addition, the position entails the supervision and direction of subordinate personnel including paramedics, driver/engineers, emergency medical technicians, and firefighters. Functions as the incident commander during emergency operations. Responds to emergency fire, medical, hazardous material, auto accident, and other emergencies; and performs duties in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and medical protocol. Considerable independent judgment must be exercised in interpreting protocols and setting direction through goals and objectives.External Candidate Minimum Qualifications:
3 years progressively responsible continuous experience as a Firefighter/Paramedic.Graduation from a standard high school supplemented by State of Florida Firefighter II, Paramedic Certifications, Basic Life Support & Advanced Life Support Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, current EVOC certificate, Fire Officer I Certification, Apparatus Pump Operator Certification, and must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and meet all requirements according to DOT standards.The salary range for this position is $58,000 – $81,000, depending on qualifications and experience, plus a generous benefits package.Applications are available online at suwanneecountyfl.gov, Suwannee County Building Dept, 224 Pine Avenue, Live Oak, Florida 32064, (386) 364-3407 or Suwannee County Administration, 13150 80th Terrace Live Oak, FL 32060, (386) 364-3400.
