Overview:
The Director of Human Resources position at Chick-fil-A West Carmel is an essential team builder and developer for our restaurant! This person will oversee the entire employee life cycle including: recruiting, selection, onboarding, training, development, and off-boarding. We are a locally owned and operated Chick-fil-A restaurant with a staff of around 80 team members. The Director of HR will ensure that we're always fully staffed with a deep bench of leaders and team members that fit our core values of Curiosity, Ownership, Optimism, and Professionalism.
Since we are a locally owned and operated restaurant, everyone on our team gets to serve our guests in the restaurant! The Director of HR can expect to work operationally in the restaurant in positions such as order taking, order fulfillment, hospitality, and other restaurant roles in addition to all of the administrative functions listed below.

Reporting Relationships:
The Director of People (DoP) will report directly to the Executive Director. The DoP will supervise, and collaborate with, leaders in functions of training, recruiting, and team member care initiatives.
Weekly Schedule:
This is a position in a Chick-fil-A restaurant. Directors on our team serve in administrative roles and on the floor in restaurant operations. This person can expect to spend 20-25 hours per week on human resources functions, and another 20-25 hours per week in an operational support role. These operational roles may include order taking, order fulfillment, catering delivery, and food preparation.
Description of Role Functions:
Recruiting
Create and execute a recruiting strategy to include on-campus recruiting at local schools/community events, speaking at local engagements, and creating internship opportunities
Selecting
Conduct interviews with candidates
Maintain processes and systems for selecting talent that fits our culture and improves our organization
Onboarding
Oversee an efficient onboarding process that leaves our new hires feeling excited about the opportunity to join our team
Performance Evaluations
Oversee the criteria, process, and execution of team member performance reviews
Conduct a monthly “people meeting” with the director team
Leadership Development
Collaborate with other Directors to create a process for identifying potential restaurant leaders
Collaborate with other Directors to create a training plan for team leaders and shift leaders
Ensure that our restaurant maintains a pipeline of current and future leaders
Human Resources
Maintain job descriptions, job postings, and identify opportunities to share our employer brand
Manage disciplinary system and participate in disciplinary conversations
Maintain the Employee Handbook
Standardize the interview process; updating interview guides and candidate communication templates as needed
Update our “Employment Value Proposition” that outlines the benefits and promises that come with working at Chick-fil-A West Carmel
Identify new opportunities to enhance our benefits strategy by meeting needs for team members in a sustainable model for the business
Restaurant Culture
Create a Care Team to coordinate initiatives to help our team feel cared for
Work directly with our chaplaincy team to provide support and resources to maximize their impact
Identify opportunities to protect and grow a healthy team culture that reinforces our core values
Conduct employee engagement surveys and implement solutions to opportunities identified therein
Operational Support
Support the team by working alongside them in restaurant operational positions over lunch/dinner
Must be able to work on your feet for hours at a time while taking orders, fulfilling orders, preparing food, etc.
