The World Surf League is looking for a Coordinator to join the People (Human Resources) team. The Coordinator will have a heavy focus on benefits administration and payroll compliance and will assist in general projects for the team. The right candidate for this position will be an individual who has a natural intellectual curiosity, strong listening, communication and analytical skills and is comfortable working independently. The Coordinator will be someone who is consistently looking to drive improvements and simplify processes. This role reports directly into the Vice President, People and is located in El Segundo, California (hybrid).Responsibilities:Assist with the day-to-day administrative aspects of benefits & support benefit projects.Assist the annual benefits open enrollment process ensuring a smooth and efficient transition and implementation.Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, documentation and HRIS.Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.Assist with management of payroll-related projects & reconciliation, including maintaining payroll documentation & supporting audits.Support analytics, including spreadsheet creation and report writing.Performance Management Cycle Administration.Recruitment Coordination: Posting open roles, screening and sourcing candidates.Ensure internal controls are met for multi-state payroll systems, including accurate and timely payroll, base pay, payroll taxes, 401(k), statutory and supplemental benefits, etc.Respond to all employee requests or inquiries (written and verbal) in a timely manner ensuring customer satisfaction.Compliance management with the EDD, and all state and federal company requirements.Compensation and change management: coordinates with the VP to ensure that all people and pay changes are documented/signed and reflected appropriately in our HRIS.Assist in the implementation of HR programs and initiatives, providing a high level of customer service and communication.Qualifications:2+ years of HR & related experience in meeting fast-paced employee-based needs.Experience with ADP Workforce Now Payroll is strongly preferred.Experience with ADP benefits module, HCM, Timekeeping, and ADP SmartCompliance strongly preferred.Proven experience with multi-state in-house payroll and knowledge of US individual tax laws/regulations preferred.Broad-based HR knowledge and awareness of laws and regulations.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite & G Suite, high proficiency in Excel.Demonstrated proficiency using an HRIS system and other common HR software.Personal Attributes:Professional yet approachable presence with top-notch execution of all responsibilities.Extremely flexible, capable of balancing and easily shifting priorities, high ethical and professional ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines, ability to work as part of a team.Excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
