Payroll Specialist 4
for a contract/hybrid opportunity in El Segundo, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is responsible for ensuring the payroll system, processes, and corporate policies are compliant, and will be responsible for managing and directing vendors, audits, and process improvements for payroll-related activities. Position will implement process improvements and cost optimization through data analytics and knowledge of best practices and benchmarking. Position will provide cross-functional communication and coordination to solve complex payroll issues with other departments, managers, employees, auditors, and outside agencies will be necessary. Position will provide training and mentorship to payroll specialists.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: Ten or more years of relevant Payroll experience.Recent hands-on SAP Experience: SAP ECC/CATS - Time and attendance, S4 HANA.Proven experience in payroll administration, including complex calculations and analysis.In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws, with experience in compliance.Experience with Social Security Administration (SSA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and multiple state and local taxation rules.Proficiency in using advanced payroll software, HRIS systems, and data analysis tools.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate large sets of payroll data.Experience interacting with internal and external auditors.Works well in a team environment.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll calculations and data entry.Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and a continuous improvement mindset.Ability to adapt to changing payroll regulations and technologies.Strong in one of the Payroll workstreams with ability to flex across:Payroll Accounting/Reconciliation experiencePayroll Operations - largely time administration on SAP, work with ADP to process payroll, answer employee inquiries, etc.Payroll Tax & Compliance - Work with ADP to ensure taxes are set up properly, tax filings, etc.Payroll systems - SAP, Workday (HR system of record), ADP EV6 and OCP (off-cycles); monitor and resolve data issues between systems, work with IT and vendors to resolve data integration issues.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.Professional certification in payroll administration (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional, Fundamental Payroll Certification).
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent. School must be accredited.
HOURS:
5/40 workweek. 1st shift. Primary location is El Segundo, hybrid capability.
