Operations Specialist , we have an exciting opportunity for you. The Operations Specialist level 3 supports production from a technical standpoint and has an excellent understanding of the product being produced in the area. It is the first line of defense and/or consultant to Operations Specialists regarding production related issues. The position is consulted by engineering regarding new product and process implementation. It solves difficult manufacturing problems and works with members to implement process and product improvements.What You Will Be DoingIndependently develops new cells, improves flow, increases velocity, and reduces waste. Leads regularly scheduled 5S eventsCollaborates with engineers. Resolves production issues and performs Root Cause AnalysisRecommends and implements process improvements for new product introductions and/or existing manufacturing processes. Works with engineering, when needed, to develop new processesIdentifies mistakes and improvements on various manufacturing documents and provides redlines to engineeringWrites and releases new work instructions and other manufacturing documentation. Revises existing work instructions and other manufacturing documentationTrains and mentors Level 1 and 2 Operations Specialists and other members on manufacturing processesEvaluates new tooling for application to current designsRecommends and implements revisions of methods of operation or material handling, alterations in equipment layout or other changes to increase production or improve standardsDispositions standard nonconformance's (i.e. QNs/NCRs/ATRs)What We Are Looking ForHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry, with direct experience in spring manufacturing and inspectionAdvanced written/verbal communication skills to all levels of the organization including customers and/or suppliersAdvanced understanding of six sigma tools and lean principlesAdvanced troubleshooting and problem solving skillsAble to manufacture complicated parts or assemblies with preliminary drawings. Able to operate complicated test or manufacturing equipmentAble to interpret complicated schematics or drawings and identify mistakes. Strong GD&T knowledgeManufacturing & Assembly Specific: 1. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and/or design/training/implementation of processes including setup/programming/training for tooling, fixturing, assembly equipment, and manufacturing aids and 2.
