Job Summary:

Supermicro Computer is seeking a passionate candidate to take on the responsibilities of Sr. Thermal Engineer - Mechanical. The position will be responsible for the thermal architecture, thermal/mechanical design, analysis, and validation of thermal technologies within networking server and data storage products. This role utilizes and champions a design process based on integration of the thermal solutions with server/rack system for new products and architectures. The ideal candidate will have a strong fundamental background in the implementation of thermal solutions and chassis/rack design in enterprise electronics.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

Develop and design thermal solution in chassis/rack system for data center applications with respect to industry standardsEvaluate the system layout, power consumptions, air flow, acoustics, sensors and related mechanical requirementsPerform component, system and rack level thermal and mechanical design for cooling systemsPrepare product drawings, BOM, SOP, DFM and system design/test reportsThermal/mechanical debugging, system optimization and documentationAnalyze structural and thermal aspects to ensure feasibility and specify thermal interface materials and manufacturing processProvide identification and creation of new techniques to advance thermal/mechanical development and validationQualifications:

Bachelor or Master's degree in Aerospace, Thermal, or Mechanical Engineering discipline is preferred8+ years’ experience or equivalent is desirableMust have solid knowledge of thermal management hardware, heat transfer material, and cooling devicesSolid knowledge in general Mechanical/thermal engineering analysis, validation, documentation and communicationKnowledge of mechanical/thermals (cooling devices, air flow, temp, power, cooling, mechanical design) with electrical/power (power distribution, AC power types, power calculations, DC power, regulatory/safety) or HVAC is a plusMust have good working spirit and work well in a team and fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsSolid communication skills, both verbal and writtenSalary Range:

$145,000 - $159,000The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.EEO Statement:
