This role manages and directs other members of the Land team on responsibilities such as design engineering, production planning, preparing budgets, schedules and regulatory approvals, as well as collaborating with the Housing, Sales and Marketing departments. Work closely with SVP on the creation and management of all Joint Venture partnerships in addition to the overall strategy and implementation for land acquisition in the region. Direct and manage the Land Acquisition activities for all opportunities including land entitlement and underwriting across the Division.Your Key DeliverablesCommunity DevelopmentProvides vision and leadership for all master planned communities within the Division.Identify new pursuit opportunities for community and lot servicing acquisitions.Manage and assist in acquisition of new MPC & Lot Servicing opportunities, including financial underwriting, CMA’s, feasibility and due diligence responsibilities.Oversee the planning/approvals and servicing of all residential or commercial projects.Responsible for delivering finished lots, common infrastructure, parks and amenities to meet internal and external demand.Manage planning and engineering workloads to ensure that business unit goals, objectives, and results are achieved.Ensure the quality and timeliness of products and services delivered by the department.Establish business metrics to drive appropriate quality results within the department.Stay abreast of new industry approaches, technology, and government policies.LeadershipMember of the Houston Executive Team.Provide strategic input and analysis across all disciplines of the Houston business.Identifies and accesses top talent and relationships for the benefit of Brookfield, Houston.Owns the development and management of relationships within all levels of municipal staff.Manage and oversee Land Departmental resources and prioritize department responsibilities.Ensure the appropriate performance and behavior of contractors/consultants retained in the community development process.Provide direction, guidance, and support to staff to ensure that corporate directives are understood and achieved.Must HavesDegree or certificate in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Geography or Urban Planning and 10 – 15 years development management experience.Demonstrated strategic thinking, strong business acumen, proven analytical skills and a successful history of real estate acquisitions.Excellent influencing negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.Knowledge of local community related Acts, Policies and Guidelines.Consultative, collaborative, proactive, outgoing, and practical.Your OpportunityWe are proud to offer our employees what they value most:Competitive compensation.Excellent extended medical, dental and vision benefits beginning day 1.401(k) matching, vesting begins day 1.Career development programs.Charitable donation matching.Paid Volunteer Hours.Paid parental leave.Family planning assistance including IVF, surrogacy and adoptions options.Wellness and mental health resources.Pet insurance offering.A culture based on our values of Passion, Integrity and Community.#BPDG#LI-BG2Brookfield Properties participates in the E-Verify process to confirm the eligibility of candidates to work in the United States.
