Structure

The Director of Operations for Development is an exempt (salaried) position employed by the University of Cincinnati Foundation and reports to the Vice President for Development.

Focus

The Director of Operations for Development provides high-level support to the Vice President for Development. Through the direction of the Vice President, the Director of Operations provides strategic coordination and support for the development efforts of the west and regional campus colleges/units, central development teams and athletics. This position includes coordination of all critical activities, meetings, and assignments. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive, complex tasks with great attention to confidentiality and detail. The ability to interact favorably with a diverse range of individuals both internal, external, and throughout the University of Cincinnati, excellent verbal communication and writing skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment, work under pressure, and, when necessary, work beyond regular office hours are essential.

Specific Duties

Act as the personal representative of the Vice President to all internal and external parties, help manage and plan the Vice President’s work through frequent communication, follow-up on open items and deadlines, identify and appropriately resolve issues brought to the attention of the Vice President, and prepare, assemble and brief the Vice President for Development on all materials required for daily schedule.

Manage logistical support for the Vice President, including prepare agendas and record/distribute minutes; draft and/or create and prepare correspondence and distribute internal and external correspondence and documents, as needed; maintain office files and research materials; open/read departmental mail.

Independently manage selected assignments, including preparation, analysis and briefing on all key operations data.

Through the direction of the Vice President, plan and manage the team's annual budget; prepare purchase requisitions; brief Vice President on monthly budget reports, and process related expenses on a timely basis.

Manage the Operations of Development by supporting college/unit, Central and Athletics development activities:

Maintain weekly/monthly/quarterly productivity reporting from the colleges, regional and athletics programs.

Assist with Foundation projects, as needed, in support of the direct reports of the Vice President.

In coordination with respective AVP and lead development officer, schedule and coordinate all dean’s meetings.

Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

A minimum of five years of executive level support experience or seven years of progressive high-level administrative support experience. Associate's degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of education and related experience will be considered.

Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail, to include anticipating needs and being proactive.

Displays high degree of professionalism in order to maintain confidential information, deal with people tactfully, and help establish strong relationships and positive communication.

Knowledge of administrative procedures, software applications (such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), records management systems, and other business procedures and terminology.

What We Offer

The anticipated starting salary range for the Director of Operations role is $70,000-$80,000 annually. When determining final offer amount the UC Foundation considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
