$90,000 ~ $115,000/year (depending on experience)
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday* | 9am ~ 5pm* | 5 days/week*
This position must accommodate a flexible work schedule to meet operational demands including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight/out-of-town travel.

Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key business leadership position within the Wings museum, responsible for the planning, implementation and oversight of all financial, accounting, human resource and other administrative activities, including but not limited to planning, creative strategy, compliance, IT, facility management, contract negotiation and legal oversight. The CFO reports to the President & CEO and is a member of the senior Leadership Team providing strategic, data driven analytics and reporting that supports the mission and vision of Wings Museum. The ideal candidate will provide significant leadership capabilities, finance, accounting, and operations experience that includes a solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles, budgeting/reporting, strategic planning, business development, HR, and administrative oversight.

Executive Leadership & Administration
Serve as a model of leadership & enthusiasm and supports diversity, equity and inclusion

Advise on both short and long term business and financial planning
Review and provide leadership oversight for all finance, legal, IT, security, facility management and human resource related requirements and functions
Establish and develop collaborative relationships with senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and external partners and stakeholders
Serve on the Board Finance Committee
Financial Management & Accounting
Serve as the primary source of information on all financial and accounting aspects of the organization
Develop controls and monitor accounting policies and procedures to support all financial planning, reporting and transaction activities
Prepare, distribute and present monthly financial reporting package including variance reporting, supplemental reporting and other financial reporting, as needed
Lead annual budgeting process for the organization including all operating and capital requirements
Oversee month-end accounting close activities with direct responsibility for reconciling and reporting on restricted net assets, fixed assets, pre-paid accounts, investment accounts, pledge payments and lease schedules
Responsible for reviewing all balance sheet reconciliations and reviewing and approving journal entries
Prepare cash-flow analysis and capital project budgets as needed
Submit grant financial information & reimbursement requests, as requested
Provide ad-hoc reporting as requested by the CEO and Board of Directors
Work with the auditors preparing and completing the annual audit and 990 tax filing
Supervise and coach all direct reports
Oversee all accounting and financial reporting processes and procedures
Track restricted funds and release to individual budgets when used
Oversee timely preparation and filing of sales tax reports, payroll tax reports, and annual 1099 filings
Oversee payroll processing and reporting, benefit package evaluation and hiring needs
Serve as liaison to insurance brokers for all employee and organizational insurance needs
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business; professional certification (CPA) a plus
MBA or Master’s Degree highly desirable
Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles (and non-profit accounting standards desirable)
Minimum 10 years of operational and financial leadership experience
Familiarity with HR management, payroll processing and IT solutions and requirements
Significant experience working with auditors and managing the annual auditing process
Experience evaluating and implementing appropriate risk management solutions
Significant experience preparing budgets and generating impactful reporting
A good listener and strategist with high professional standards and attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as in conjunction with the team
Outstanding interpersonal skills for working with staff, board, volunteers, and patrons
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, able to communicate in technical and user-friendly terms and effectively negotiate
Innovative, adaptive, quick learner with high energy and enthusiasm
Experience in nonprofits and aviation/aerospace very desirable
Proficient with accounting, database & CRM software, Microsoft office

Emotionally mature with a good sense of humor and the flexibility and sensitivity to work with diverse personalities and situations
