Title: Cyber Network Engineer, Senior Principal

Location: Chantilly, VA

Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly (Required)

McIntire Solutions is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cyber Network Engineer, Senior Principal to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia. In this role, you’ll help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement.

As a Senior Principal Cyber Network Engineer, you will be responsible for expanding network architecture of various vendor network devices, such as routers, switches, load balancers and firewalls. Work closely with cross domain engineers to implement and maintain the robust and highly available network devices surrounding a complex cross domain system.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prioritize requirements based on the needs of the project

Interact with other team members and customers at multiple levels to gather, supply, or coordinate information

Good communication and customer service skills are needed along with ability to coordinate effectively with individuals from multiple levels

Provide insight into efficiencies that can be gained from the current workflow based on an understanding of the customers’ requirements

Work with engineers on troubleshooting and building complex, highly available network topologies

Perform engineering support and system administration of applications and systems to include installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, and back-up/restore

Provide Tier 2/3 maintenance and engineering support for deployed technologies

Support Assessment and Authorization activities related to cybersecurity technologies, where applicable

Identify potential conflicts with implementation of any cybersecurity tools within the enterprise and develop recommendations to remediate these conflicts

Provide ideas for automating repetitive project tasks and metrics collection using scripts and assist with testing/implementation to production

Other project and corporate duties as assigned to support the customer

Experience with Python and Forescout a plus

Required Qualifications:

Minimum education: B.S. or relevant experience in related field

Minimum/general experience: 10 years of related network experience (firewalls, routers, switches and load balancers)

A solid understanding of Windows and Linux systems, general operating system security practices, TCP/IP networking, and network security concepts is required

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, agile, and nimble environment

Excellent written/oral communications skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent organization, planning, and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail

Must have or be willing to obtain IAT Level II or higher certification within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of federal Cyber Security Guidance such as NIST SP 800-37 – Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to Federal Information Systems and NIST 800-137 – Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and Organizations

Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously; coordinating resources and ensuring scheduled goals are met

Ability to effectively interact with various levels of senior management is necessary

Ability to make decisions and resolve problems effectively – seek out information and data to evaluate, prioritize and formulate best solution or practice

Must be able to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, share workloads, and deal with sudden shifts in project priorities

Security Clearance Requirements:

Must possess an active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

Must be able to detect information on a computer screen
