Who We’re Looking For

A successful Clinical Director enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds and doesn’t shy away from honest and caring — yet sometimes difficult — conversations. This position is for you if you’re able to treat others with dignity, compassion, and respect, even in life’s most challenging moments.

You are an aspiring or experienced leader who has the motivation and ability to develop, influence, train and lead others! You possess the knowledge of ASAM criteria and corresponding levels of care as well as the biopsychosocial characteristics and other comorbid behaviors of substance use disorder and/or mental illness. You possess considerable knowledge of individual and group behavior and the effective ways of working with people based on client-centered principles and Motivational Interviewing strategies to facilitate long-term recovery. You have the ability to identify the needs of clients and to gain their confidence and cooperation in assisting them to obtain their identified goals.

What You'll Do At Gaudenzia

Develop, implement, and monitor training plans for clinical staff based on the needs of clients and the facility; training must be reflective of best practices and congruent with state regulations and licensing entities.

Implement treatment schedule to promote appropriate clinical interventions.

Provide close supervision of counselors and therapists and of required documentation including electronic client health records, treatment entries, etc., in accordance with established policies, which comply with licensing, funding and regulatory agencies.

Intervene in difficult cases and approve all referrals to specialized care.

Supervise aftercare component of treatment.

Attend, participate, and when necessary, facilitate meetings and special events such as retreats, trips, workshops, etc.

Maintain a small client caseload, when necessary.

Support and demonstrate adherence to Gaudenzia’s Standards of Conduct and all personnel policies and procedures.

Maintain appropriate professional certificates and credentials.

Be responsible for the facility when the Director is unavailable.

Other related duties as assigned by Program Director or designee.

Qualifications for this Role:

Delaware Education/ Licensure Requirements:

Must possess, at minimum, a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, psychology, or equivalent field plus specialized training in supervision.

The following licensure or certification is required: LPC and LPCMH/LMHC, LCSW, LCPC, LCADC and credentialed as a clinical supervisor.

Maryland Education/ Licensure Requirements:

Must possess, at minimum, a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, psychology, or equivalent field plus specialized training in supervision.

The following licensure or certification is required: LCPC or LCADC with supervisor’s letter from the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists

or

LCSW-C from the Board of Social Work.

Must have at least five years clinical supervisory experience.

Pennsylvania Education/ Licensure Requirements:

Must have an independent clinical license to practice through the Department of State (such as an LCSW or an LPC) and be certified as a Certified Clinical Supervisor through the PCB.

Must also complete department-approved core curriculum training which includes clinical supervision skills.
