DescriptionUnited States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is looking for a Junior Network Administrator to assist design, implement, maintain, and administer a growing cloud and on premises network infrastructure solution to support a modern Mission Control System. As a Junior Network Administrator, you will be part of an administrative team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet mission requirements.ResponsibilitiesAdminister, manage, implement, and maintain USSOCOM's cloud and on-prem infrastructure services.Collaborate with engineers and USSOCOM government technical staff to ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and firmware across an array of network solutions.Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, and routers.Configure routing and switching capabilities including RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, lay 2 and 3 switching, spanning tree, portfast, WiFi, VLANs, iSCSI, VPN, DNS, and DHCP services.Develop and maintain network security policies, standards, and monitoring capabilities.Assist with designing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans.Participate in the planning and execution of network upgrades and expansions.Manage cloud-based services such as DNS, digital certificates, storage solutions including SAN and NAS, IP based video, phone services and camera services, and network connected end user workstations.Implement network monitoring tools such as Wire Shark, PRTG, Auvik and solar winds.Support and manage other IT services as required.

This position is required to be onsite at USSOCOM's HQ and offsite facilities in Tampa FL.RequirementsNecessary skills and experiencePrior SOCOM network enterprise experience with at least 3 years managing SIE capabilities.Minimum 3 years of networking and systems experience supporting a wide variety of network technology, platforms, designing and implementing complete network infrastructure. As well as managing and configuring highly reliable hybrid environments across network infrastructures including copper, fiber, and cloud-based solutions.Cisco Certified Network Administrator-CCNA or higher (CCNP)Comptia Net+ and Sec+In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with networking hardware, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.Experience with network infrastructure and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN services.Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance and must be SCI eligible.

Beneficial skills and experienceStrong technical curiosity, security-minded, and a "let's figure it out" attitude.Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or experience in lieu of.Cloud Infrastructure certifications in AWS and MS Azure.Experience with SonicWALL, Fortinet, Dell, Cisco, Ubiquiti.Prior experience with an agile environment where continuous development is practiced.
